This year is Mrs. Crider's 15th year teaching art at Smoky Row Elementary!  She attended Ball State University for both her Bachelor's degree in Visual Art Education in 2003 and her M.A.E degree in Elementary Education in 2008.

She lives in Carmel with her husband Nick and 6 year old daughter Evie.  She also has a very spoiled Yorkie named Izzy Belle.  In her spare time she loves to cook, read, make art, and visit with her family and friends as often as she can.

CREATING ART!

In Februrary 2010, Mrs. Crider recieved the Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Grant.  The grant allowed her to immerse herself in the imaginative world of Harry Potter and paint an original 4x8 foot mural for our school media center that reflects the creative imagery portrayed in J.K. Rowling’s novels. Inspiration for the mural was gained by traveling to England, where Rowling’s story sprang to life, as well as to the theme park, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” in Orlando, Florida.
